Coptic bound book with found fabric cover. The cotton fabric was given to me by a friend in 2020 for sewing masks out of due to the sudden need for masks, which of course were very limited in availability, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. I did sew many cloth masks for myself and my family, but not all the fabric was used. I saved this soft vintage cotton. It feels well loved t the touch. The interior of the book is mostly comprised of old prints including screenprints and monotypes, as well as oil paintings from my undergraduate studies at Tulane University in New Orleans under the instruction of Professor Teresa Cole.
Once bound, I used this book as a sketchbook for June 28th-July 20th, though I mistakenly labeled the book as running “June 28, 2024-June 20, 2024.” I easily confuse numbers and time, particularly when stressed. I’ve left the inaccurate dates as an aspect of the record of this time in this artist book.
