Collagraph Demonstration, Mid America Print Council (MAPC) Conference, Fall 2024

I will be presenting a demonstration with Professor Teresa Cole of Tulane University on collagraph printmaking techniques at the 2024 Mid America Print Council (MAPC) Conferece this Fall: From the Ashes: Printmaking, Preservation, and Renewal. MAPC states that the conference focus is to “… explore the relationship between printmakers and the natural environment.” These theme embodies many concepts, our presentation aligning most strongly with “…print as a physical or conceptual vehicle through which to interface with environmental concerns.”

The inception of my own work with collagraph–and printmaking as a field in general–came directly from Professor Cole, whom I did in-depth study with as an undergraduate student in the BFA program 2003-2007.

The conference will take place at Kansas State University from October 2-6, 2024.

Hannah March Sanders received her BFA at Tulane University and an MFA in printmaking from Louisiana State University. Along with her husband, Blake, Hannah operates http://orangebarrelindustries.com/, an artist collaborative that organizes portfolio exchanges, exhibitions and other art events. She is currently the Coordinator of the BA in Art as well as Area Head of Printmaking, and a Professor of Art in the Department of Art + Design at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO.
