Bat Shit!, Comic to be Published in World War III Illustrated Magazine

I was invited by the editors of World War III Illustrated Magazine to create a comic based on my ongoing web comic Bat Shit!, published on Substack.

I have been writing Bat Shit! since the Fall of 2025. It’s a web comic about raising a service dog for my disability, with themes of mental health, working in higher education, and queer identity.

Issue #55 of the Magazine will be out in September 2026, published by AK Press and available online. Currently available for pre-order at a discounted price!

Hannah March Sanders received her BFA at Tulane University and an MFA in printmaking from Louisiana State University. Along with her husband, Blake, Hannah operates http://orangebarrelindustries.com/, an artist collaborative that organizes portfolio exchanges, exhibitions and other art events. She is currently the Coordinator of the BA in Art as well as Area Head of Printmaking, and a Professor of Art in the Department of Art + Design at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO.
