Tributary Tug-O-War


Collaboration with Blake Sanders as Orange Barrel Industries, Repurposed fabrics, plastic grocery bags, sewing, crochet, yarn, screen print on MDF, spray paint, charcoal and gesso on MDF, full gallery installation, 2012-13.

This installation was created for an exhibition we put together in a downtown gallery in Beresford, SD during Frogman’s Print and Paper Workshops, which at the time took place at the University of South Dakota in nearby Vermillion, SD.

The same installation was also installed in New Orleans in 2012 as a part of the Southern Graphics Council International Conference. The theme for the 2012 SGCI Conference was Navigating Currents. “Tributary Tug-O-War” was a part of the exhibition Uncharted Territories, Curated by May Babcock. The exhibition took place at St. Roch Healing Center in New Orleans, LA.

Hannah March Sanders received her BFA at Tulane University and an MFA in printmaking from Louisiana State University. Along with her husband, Blake, Hannah operates http://orangebarrelindustries.com/, an artist collaborative that organizes portfolio exchanges, exhibitions and other art events. She is currently the Coordinator of the BA in Art as well as Area Head of Printmaking, and a Professor of Art in the Department of Art + Design at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO.
