Pearl Duden, “Of Pandemics Past,” Digital Zine Comic, AR505 Special Topics: Making Comics, Spring 2023

In Spring 2022, I taught AR505 Special Topics in Art + Design as a Making Comics course in collaboration with 2 faculty from the English Department teaching “Understanding Comics” and “Writing Comics.” Students rotated through our classrooms and studied the 3 aspects of comics, learning theory, creative writing, and comic and zine drawing and making skills.

Hannah March Sanders received her BFA at Tulane University and an MFA in printmaking from Louisiana State University. Along with her husband, Blake, Hannah operates http://orangebarrelindustries.com/, an artist collaborative that organizes portfolio exchanges, exhibitions and other art events. She is currently the Coordinator of the BA in Art as well as Area Head of Printmaking, and a Professor of Art in the Department of Art + Design at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO.
