Every other Fall, The Center for Faulkner Studies (CFS) and the Department of English at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) hosted the Biennial Faulkner Conference, an international event which paired Faulkner with another author annually as the subject of conference presentations.
Catapult Press hosted an event for two of these conferences, in 2019 it was the Faulkner and Gabriel Garcia Marquez conference, for which we printed posters and live printed hand carved woodblock designs by the students.
From SEMO’s Website on the CFS:
“The Center for Faulkner Studies (CFS) is devoted to the study of William Faulkner, sole owner and proprietor of Yoknapatawpha County, Mississippi.
“The CFS is located on the fourth floor of Kent Library ing Room 406 on Southeast Missouri State University’s campus in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.”
It was established at Southeast Missouri State University in 1989 under the leadership of its founding director, Robert Hamblin, following the University’s acquisition of the Louis Daniel Brodsky Collection of William Faulkner Materials, assembled over a 30-year period by Louis Daniel (L.D.) Brodsky of St. Louis.
