I’m very excited to announce that this Spring I will be teaching a 4 week figure drawing for comics workshop through https://www.sequentialartistsworkshop.org/learn!
Working in comics myself–and through my nearly 20 years teaching drawing–I have seen that folx have a lot of hang ups about drawing the human figure. We want it to look “just right.” But what about how cool it is when things look “wrong” in just the right way?
This course’s goals will include confidence building as well as exploration of creative expression in drawing bodies in comics, with a foundation in gestural anatomy.
Course is suitable for all levels, whether you’ve studied figure drawing or generally stick to stick figures–join us for a fun time!
I’m truly honored to have the opportunity to teach on the same platform as Maureen Burdock, Sarah Maloney, Hyena Hell, K. Woodman-Maynard, Josh Bayer, Vanessa Davis, Derek Ballard, Dr. Elizabeth Trembley, and many others. S.A.W. is an incredible community–I am a student and member of the community, and to be able to give back through teaching through SAW, as well, feels great.
