Abby Koch, Project 1: Who We Are and How We Got Here, Pamplet Stitch Book with Collaged Digital Photos and Ink Pen, 8.5″x5.5″ when closed, AR505 Social Practice Printmaking and Fibers, Spring 2025

Project Prompt from Professor Jennifer Combe, University of Montana. Below is a part of the project rationale.

“By engaging in this project, we acknowledge and give reverence to the beings who have supported our journey to this place. This project acknowledges the land and places that are important to us, the activities that fill our souls. By sharing our work with others, we will get to know each other, which is the first step in building community.

With a stronger community, students are more apt collaborate, take risks, and engage in reciprocal dialogue. Additionally, when students have an opportunity to share what they want out of a specific class, instructors can weave in students’ hopes and dreams into the semester curriculum, therefore increasing student engagement and success.”
